Mask Up 100 Day Challenge: What You Need to Know

Mask up, America!
The COVID-19 pandemic has claimed the lives of more than 400,000 Americans. But every one of us can decrease the death toll. A study of nearly half a million Americans found that a 10 percent increase in mask-wearing decreased COVID transmission significantly.
President Joe Biden has asked Americans to wear both reusable and disposable face masks. As part of his efforts, he has issued a 100-day challenge. Here is a quick guide.

The New Mandate

As one of his first actions, President Biden signed an executive order mandating mask-wearing on federal properties. All federal employees must wear a mask while they work and move around.
Federal agencies must work with local governments to ensure compliance. Biden’s mandate extends to post offices and national parks.
Visitors to federal properties should also wear masks. These should cover their nose and mouth with two layers of material. Individuals on federal property should also practice social distancing and handwashing.
Biden’s order charges the COVID-19 Response Coordinator to incentivize mask-wearing across America. The Secretary of Health and Human Services should also work with government officials and business leaders to promote this new mandate.
President Biden plans to sign an executive order mandating masks on airplanes and trains. This executive order is pending and open to revision.

The 100 Day Challenge

President Biden has issued a challenge to all Americans; he would like all Americans to wear a face mask in public. Whether you go to the grocery store or a party, you should be wearing this face protection.
“In 100 days, we can change the course of the disease and change life in America for the better,” said Biden, “Whatever your politics or point of view, mask up for 100 days.”
However, the President cannot force local governments to impose mask mandates. It is not criminal to not wear a mask in public.
Nonetheless, it is no secret that wearing this valuable protection can save lives. The coronavirus can spread from talking, coughing, and sneezing. A person touches their face roughly 20 times in an hour, which can sicken them with the coronavirus.
Mask Up

It takes all of us

President Biden wants all Americans stay protected and he has issued several policies so Americans do.
All visitors to a federal property must wear a mask. The federal government must work with state and local bodies to promote this new mandate and will eventually expand to air and train travelers.
Biden’s challenge asks all Americans to wear a mask in public. There are many people who doubt the science that a mask can save lives. Although, it has been proven that the proper face mask can protect against fluid transmission. They can also help filter out the coronavirus and keeps people from touching their face.
Most of us can agree: even a little protection against harmful bacteria is better than no protection.
